Emily is a 20-something content creator and editorial stylist from the snow capital of the country — Syracuse, New York — and currently works at 7th & Wit, a social media agency in Manhattan. She loves her puppy, Charlie, sweaty hot yoga classes, a good cup of coffee, and traveling to places she’s never been before. Emily began Baubles & Brunch in the summer of 2014 to document the things she loves and to inspire others to find the little luxuries in life.
Emily has always loved beauty and fashion. At just five years old she made red glittery shoes inspired by Dorothy’s in the Wizard of Oz, and wore them just about every day until the glitter fell off. She refused to wear her costumes at her elementary school’s annual Halloween parades because she liked her regular outfits too much, and each and every visit to the hairdresser she instructed the stylist, repeating, “Not poofy! Not poofy!” the entire appointment (all too concerned the hairstylist would give too much volume for her taste). While her style has changed over time (she now appreciates a good bit of volume at the roots!), her love for fashion and beauty has never faded.
She recently graduated cum laude from Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, one of the top communications schools in the country. She received her degree in public relations, with a concentration in Fashion & Beauty Communications. Before that, she went to the Fashion Institute of Technology and graduated with her degree in Advertising & Marketing Communications.
Now, Emily finds many ways to incorporate her love of beauty and fashion into her everyday life (namely, this blog and putting together a new outfit with a hot cup of coffee in hand every morning). She has interned on the social media team at Birchbox, been a Campus Rep for New England-based brand Kiel James Patrick, and ran the PR for Zipped Magazine, Syracuse University’s beauty and fashion publication. Emily also volunteers at New York Fashion Week each season; from running to the nearest drugstore to get bottled water for the models, to stuffing goodie bags, double- and triple-checking the seating charts, and ushering guests to their seats, no task is too big or too small.
